Generative Artificial Intelligence (genAI)

Definition: Generative AI is a form of artificial intelligence that can autonomously create new content such as text, images, or music. These systems learn from large datasets and use the acquired knowledge to create creative works. To achieve this, the systems are trained on large, publicly available datasets.

It can imitate works in the style of famous artists, create new literary genres, and even offer innovative solutions for product development. Through the use of models like GANs (Generative Adversarial Networks), the quality of produced content has significantly improved in recent years. The rapid advancements in so-called Large Language Models (LLMs) — models with billions or even trillions of parameters — have ushered in a new era where generative AI models can quickly write engaging texts, create photorealistic images, and even draft entertaining movie scripts. Furthermore, innovations in multimodal AI allow for the generation of content across multiple media types, including text, graphics, and video. This is the foundation for tools like Dall-E, which automatically generate images from a text description.
